My name is Clive Rounce. I am a chartered engineer and a chartered manager with over 30 years’ experience gained in manufacturing, general operations, engineering contracting and a public / private partnership.
My knowledge and capabilities include technical problem-solving, organisational development, performance improvement and change management, most recently as Head of Continuous Improvement for a large engineering organisation.
I became interested in the ‘human side of enterprise’ early in my career whilst working on technical projects in a manufacturing organisation. I realised that the technical solutions, plant and equipment and procedures were necessary but not sufficient. We needed the teams to be fully involved and motivated – and we needed their knowledge and expertise to develop the best solutions in the first place.
I moved into operations and, ever since, I have been reading and learning about effective management of individuals and teams – and implementing this learning as a practicing manager.
